Our Christian Education (Sunday School) classes aim to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). We meet after the worship service from 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Our current course offerings include:
The Bridge (College class)
Want some encouragement and support for these exciting years of college? Looking for people who can relate to you and the challenges you face? Looking to grow in your spiritual life? We gather together to deepen our affection and passion in the Word of God by discussing the sermon to connect through our common interests and life events and apply what God is teaching in us, through us and for us.
Chinese Class: Ephesians
The book of Ephesians is a book that talks about building the Church—the body of Christ—and bringing glory to the Church. It also talks about how we, as Christians, can grow up in Christ to be mature so that all men will know we are His disciples.
Apostle Paul wrote that when believers come together, in each one of us is "a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation" that can be used to build each other up and to strengthen the church. This class attempts to do just that. Each week, a guest AABCer shares their testimony, a lesson that has brought them closer to Christ and what God has been doing in their life lately. If you're interested in getting to know your fellow AABCers better or if you're interested in sharing your own hymn, lesson or revelation, we would love to have you.
Missio Dei: The Mission of god
Have you ever thought, "Why does God do what He does? What is God's mission? If God has one, shouldn't I also be a part of it?" This class examines the mission of God while seeking to excite and motivate participants to strategically get involved in God's call to be on mission. Highly recommended for those considering and/or going on missions (which is really everyone).
Heartland: An Exploratory Journey
Of all the frontiers left in this world to explore and conquer, the least (and last) is the human heart. The Bible makes it clear that from the human heart flows all the good and evil that we find in this world. It is the territory where God himself searches as well as occupies. We will be making forays into uncharted regions of our own hearts while comparing notes along the way. Even though this is an all-expenses-paid sojourn, participants are encouraged to pack the following items for the journey: eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts to embrace whatever is encountered along the way.
Time Together as "Real Men"
We all long for transparency. A transparent man is a "real" man—as he can disclose his setbacks as well as victories. He is "real" because he does not mask what is going on inside.
Gathering as a small men's group, we will use excerpts from David Eckman's book Sex, Food and God: Breaking Free From Temptations, Compulsions and Addictions to encourage one another toward love, peace and wholesomeness.
